The iPhone 14 specifically
The iPhone 14 was the first model Apple sold in the US with no SIM tray whatsoever. If your iPhone 14 came from America there is nowhere to put a SIM, and an eSIM is the only route.
What this means for a non-PTA iPhone 14
PTA registration applies to local SIMs. eJurs is a roaming eSIM, so no local SIM is involved and an unregistered handset still gets online.

Open the dialer on your iPhone 14 and dial *#06#. If an EID appears alongside the IMEI, the phone has an eSIM.
It must also be free of a carrier lock — worth confirming on anything bought second-hand or brought in from abroad.
Installing an eSIM on a Apple phone
- Open Settings, then tap Cellular (or Mobile Data).
- Tap Add eSIM, then Use QR Code.
- Scan the QR code we send you on WhatsApp.
- Label the plan — 'eJurs' works — and finish setup.
- Under Cellular Data, choose the eJurs line, and turn Data Roaming on.
The QR code arrives on WhatsApp, usually within two minutes of payment clearing. Scan it from the screen of another device, or save the image and pick it from your photos.
